
We took this shot a couple of days ago just before a rainstorm struck. There's a giant underground water tank beneath the grass, which provided coolant for the transmitters.
The Voice of America Bethany Relay Station is located about 25 miles north of Cincinnati, Ohio. It went into service in 1944 and transmitted news of World War II on shortwave radio frequencies using 200,000-watt transmitters built by the Crosley Corporation.
