With terrain like this, no wonder they built a watch tower. At night it would have been easy for saboteurs to approach.

The Voice of America Bethany Relay Station is located about 25 miles north of Cincinnati, Ohio. It went into service in 1944 and transmitted news of World War II on shortwave radio frequencies using 200,000-watt transmitters built by the Crosley Corporation.
